KNS's SuperTrack Z12 antenna system is chosed by the South Korea Coast Guard(KCG) 2006-04-28
KNS have installed 14 units of SuperTrack Z12 for the South Korea Coast Guard. Korea Coast Guard chose the broadband satellite communication as their baisc communication system. This solution delivers broadband channels of 2 Msps to large vessels and CDMA voice channels to small vessels via KoreaSat3 satellite. Onboard tests with the system is finished successfully and it will be deployed to KCG in a 3-year phasing-in system integration project starting October 2005.

The use of the system is to provide the followings:
-KCG can expand patrol area upto 200 miles(360Km) to the sea due to the newly defined exclusive economic zone(EEZ), which means more secure and faster communication with its headquaters and also among fleet vessels.
-KCG vessels can access more frequently to both the Internet and its Intranet anf for two-way video communication with HQ.
-There is no need for KCG to rely on existing analogue microwave systems any more, which have difficulty in reaching 200 miles from coast lines.
-KCG can ignore Korea's western and southern archipelago that poses signal blockage further degrading signal quality.

The Korea Coast Guard have now completed the first phase of the roll out to 14 vessels covering Korea penninsula, with a Network Operations Centre installed at HQ in Incheon Korea. The second phase has just begun, to cover 6 vessels to be completed by October 2006.

¡°This is a new concept and first system in the world for Coast Guard¡° says chief-director Lee of KCG. ¡° This system can provide us with more capability to protect Dokdo island from Japan."

KNS introduced today, the SuperTrack Z6, the world's first true 3-axis gyro, 3-axis motor-controlled 24-inch satellite antenna platform with high speed internet downlink that is finally open to the public at an affordable price.

The new system will offer its users freedom to enjoy satellite television while accessing the internet as well. SuperTrack Z6 system offers it's users a state of the art technology that is easy to use and operate. KNS expects this product line will be the affordable must-have for 2006.

The Korea based KNS, offers its buyers a fresh opportunity to better products that are priced affordably. Currently, the market leaders only offer 3-axis gyro units with 2-axis motor movement capabilities. The introduction of the SuperTrack Z6 is the first true 3-axis gyro system offering 3-axis, stabilized motor movement. This is the first unit of its kind available for public purchase in the U.S. at an affordable price and invites new opportunities for the growing marine luxury market.

The KNS system is operated by a 24-inch reflector communicating to a linear satellite using a KU band signal; however, the KNS technology makes this system capable of receiving circular polarized television signals as well. This ability to receive and utilize both signals makes the SuperTrack Z6 system one of only a few units available in the world with dual signal capabilities and with internet speeds up to 500 Kbps; an KNS exclusive product.

¡°The SuperTrack Z6 was able to continuously work the internet under very severe and turbulent conditions as well as provide clear television reception through multiple and rigorous testing," announced Kevin Jin, CEO of KNS. ¡° This is something not seen consistently in other devices.¡±

The SuperTrack Z6 will allow smaller vessel owners a chance to enjoy a technology that has not been an affordable option in the past. Today, KNS makes it possible through its SuperTrack Z6, for everyone to own and enjoy the same technology from their boat that was previously only available at home or at the office.

The KNS 3-axis system is the first among many new introductions for 2006. ¡°KNS will also be ready to introduce the SuperTrack Z4 shortly after the release of the SuperTrack Z6,¡± said Kevin. ¡°We have smaller, more efficient and affordable units in final stages of testing that we are very excited about.¡±
